Instead of the indoor air handler plus outdoor condenser layout used in a split system, the entire system sits on a slab next to the house or on the roof of a small commercial building, and conditioned air is ducted in and out of the structure.

Packaged systems make sense when a split-system layout is impractical, expensive, or impossible. The most common scenarios we see across East Texas:
As an Armstrong Air Pro Team Dealer, we install Armstrong's packaged-unit lineup most often. Three models cover almost every East Texas use case:
16 SEER2 Gas Pack
Gas-heat and electric-cool packaged unit. The PRPGE16 is the go-to replacement for manufactured-home gas packs in Walker, Madison, and Leon Counties. R-454B refrigerant compliant for the 2025 transition.
Packaged Air Conditioner with Electric Heat
Cooling plus electric resistance heat strips. PCE7 fits properties without natural gas service and is common in San Jacinto County and rural Madison County installations.
17 SEER2 Packaged Heat Pump
All-electric heating and cooling in one cabinet. The PHP17 is a strong replacement option for homes where gas is unavailable or where the homeowner prefers heat pump operation for lower heating costs in mild East Texas winters.
We also install non-Armstrong packaged units on request when matching an existing line or when the customer has a specific brand preference. Bring your existing nameplate photos to the consultation and we will quote like-for-like and an Armstrong alternative side by side.
Every installation follows the same documented seven-step process:
We install packaged HVAC units throughout our East Texas service area:
Packaged-unit pricing depends on capacity (3, 4, or 5 ton), efficiency rating, fuel type (gas pack vs. heat pump vs. straight AC), and the scope of pad, ductwork, or electrical work the existing installation requires. We provide a written, line-item estimate at every quote so you can see exactly what is included.
Armstrong Air manufacturer rebates run periodically through the year on qualifying packaged units. Financing is available through our finance partners with options from same-as-cash to extended-term plans. See our financing page or call 936-661-9123 to talk through options before you decide.
We work to bring you rebates that will help you make the changes or repairs that you need for your comfort.
We offer specials to help you get the service you need for a little less.
