Furnace Repair Services

Unexpected furnace problems can be a significant inconvenience, especially during the coldest days of the year. Our furnace repair services are designed to quickly and effectively address issues such as:

  • Inadequate heat production or uneven heating
  • Persistent noises or strange smells
  • Frequent cycling on and off
  • Pilot light or ignition control problems
  • Thermostat malfunctions

We use only high-quality parts and tools to ensure durable repairs and enhance your furnace's performance.

Furnace Maintenance Services

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficiency of your furnace. Our thorough maintenance checks include:

  • Inspecting and cleaning burners and heat exchangers
  • Checking and replacing air filters as needed
  • Testing safety controls and electrical connections
  • Lubricating moving parts to prevent wear and tear
  • Evaluating airflow and system efficiency

By identifying and addressing potential issues early, our maintenance services help avoid costly repairs and ensure your furnace runs smoothly throughout the heating season.

Common Furnace Problems We Repair

Most furnace repair calls start with one of a handful of symptoms. Here is what each one usually points to:

  • The furnace runs but blows cold air. The burners are not lighting or not staying lit, which usually means an ignition or gas valve fault, or a tripped limit switch.
  • No heat at all. The cause is usually the thermostat, the power supply, the ignitor or, on older units, the pilot.
  • Short cycling on and off. The system starts, runs for a few minutes and shuts down, often because a safety control is tripping.
  • A loud blower or rattling while it runs. Worn blower parts or something loose inside the cabinet.
  • Burning or unusual smells. A dusty smell at the first start of the season is common and fades quickly; a smell that lingers or smells electrical needs a technician.
  • Uneven heat between rooms. Usually an airflow problem in the blower, the registers or the ductwork.

We diagnose heat exchanger, ignitor, blower and gas valve faults on furnaces of all makes and models.

Safety Checks on Every Furnace Repair

Owner Donnie Ginsel came out of the fire service, and gas-fired equipment is where that background matters most. Every repair visit includes a check of the heat exchanger for cracks, the flue draft, the gas line pressure and the furnace's safety controls. These checks are done as a matter of course, not as an upsell, because a cracked heat exchanger or a poor draft can send combustion gases into the house.

If you smell gas, leave the house and call your gas utility first, then call us.

Repair or Replace Your Furnace?

East Texas furnaces run a short season, so a well-maintained furnace often outlasts its warranty. The replacement conversation starts when repairs keep repeating, when the heat exchanger is compromised, or when the system is near the end of its service life. Either way, you get a written estimate for the repair before any work starts.

When replacement makes more sense, we quote Armstrong Air furnaces side by side: the A801E (80% AFUE, single-stage), the A962E (96% AFUE, two-stage) and the A98MV (98% AFUE, modulating). Our furnace installation and replacement page explains how the three compare.

Furnace, Heat Pump or Packaged Unit?

Many homes in the area heat with a heat pump or a gas pack instead of a split-system furnace. The symptoms overlap, but the repairs differ: a heat pump has a reversing valve and a defrost cycle, and a packaged unit keeps the heating and cooling sections in one outdoor cabinet. If you are not sure which one you have, the technician will tell you on the first visit. See heat pump repair and packaged unit repair for those systems.

Same-Day Furnace Repair on Weekdays

Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Same-day repair is typical when you call before noon, and common parts ride on the truck, so many repairs can be finished on the first visit. We serve Huntsville, Madisonville, New Waverly, Centerville, Conroe, College Station and Bryan. Call 936-661-9123 to schedule, and ask about a fall tune-up through our annual maintenance plan before the first cold front.
